Who we are & What we do
SAKPV wans to help the children of South -Africa with our feeding scheme and with education development. Our main focus is our feeding scheme for disadvantaged children.
Poverty has no boundaries .Families experience financial difficulty .Children are the ones that suffer the most because of circumstances they cannot change.
We support less fortunate children who live in poverty with food parcels . We provide them with food parcels , groceries and education-related necessities. We deliver food parcels at their schools and with the help of volunteers ,grocery filled bags are delivered to their homes in the communities. We also provide street kids with food parcels.
It is our passion at SAKPV to uplift the lives of under privileged children with our feeding scheme. We want to see them reach their full potential by providing basic needs such as food, groceries, school supplies and clothes . With the necessary nutrition, children will be able to concentrate and focus on their schoolwork. So many children go to school with no breakfast, with hunger pains, because of food insecurity due to poverty. Parents struggle to meet the needs of their families.
Lots of children need school bags, uniforms and other school supplies .Back to school shopping can take a bite out of families budgets, but for many children there are no money for school supplies or food.-not even paper and pencils. We also provide school equipment to schools. Some children sit in terrible hot temperatures with sweat running from their little faces, because there are no fans in the classrooms. There are computers, chairs, tables and library books needed at some schools.
SAKPV wants to eradicate and fight hunger in our communities and schools and create communities where children can thrive and learn/to get communities involved with a strong food assistance network. We want to create solutions for food shortages.
Where there is food insecurity, there is poverty. Children don’t have enough meals, leaving them weak .It has a great influence on their performance at school .They live in hunger. It could also lead to crime where bigger children try to steal food from shops. They don’t eat enough or have nothing to eat and live in fear of starvation. Lots of children are left with very little food during school holidays as the schools close and they are left without this reliable food source.
A child should not worry where his next meal will come from. We want to see children s lives set free of poverty. For children particular, food insecurity has devastating effects. Hunger weakens immune systems and stunts child development, making it difficult for a child to learn and thrive. Lack of food and nutritional imbalance especially over a long period is a major educational barrier in the educational development of children .Without the proper nutrition, children may have problems with emotional, physical, social, and spiritual development. Education development starts with good nutrition .
We want to give children a better life/ to improve their lives/to give them hope and a better future. We start with the most basic important need first…food. Without food there is no life .Children with food insecurity may go a long time without proper meals and nutrition .The result is far-reaching on both their mental and physical wellbeing. This is something SAKPV is striving to prevent with providing food parcels to the best of our ability.
